Qualifications
- All university students are eligible to apply for the Summer Fellowship.
- must be enrolled full-time in an undergraduate bachelor's degree program at this time.
- Prior to the SURF application deadline, candidates must have finished at least one academic semester or quarter.
- For an application to be considered, the applicant must have a cumulative GPA of at least 2.8/4.0 or its equivalent.
- A final report must be turned in to the supervisor by each participant.
- The J-1 visa will be applied for by foreign candidates.

Your academic transcript can be uploaded immediately to the application system in PDF format.

As an international student, do I have to apply for CPT?
CPT authorization is not necessary if you are an overseas student attending Purdue University on an F1 visa. International students from other schools, however, will require their home university's CPT authorization.
Can I Get Paid for the Research and Get Credit for It?
No, the only way for Purdue SURF students to get paid is to finish the program. To record the research experience on their transcript, students are advised to sign up for ENGR 39602 (0 credit).
