Introduction about the JIAS Writing Fellowship 2025
Enthusiastic writers are invited to participate in a three-month writing program in South Africa under the JIAS Writing Fellowship 2025. Global Blackness will be the Writing Fellowship's theme this year. The term "global blackness" at JIAS refers to the institute's dedication to examining the range of Black perspectives, experiences, intellectual activities, and theoretical approaches. The JIAS fellowship encourages collaborative efforts as well as analytical and diverse research projects.
This literary scholarship program has previously welcomed media workers, researchers, independent researchers, novelists, poets, and scriptwriters as fellows. Writers must identify any new or continuing projects they want to work on during this fully supported fellowship program when they apply. Fellows are urged to put aside any personal obligations or other research during the three-month residential stay in order to give their project their full attention.
In the Global South, the JIAS Writing Fellowship offers a stimulating opportunity for innovative and creative study. This will free up time and space for exploration without the pressures of professional or academic life, such as managing, teaching, and grading. The JIAS platform provides a comprehensive program of reading groups, seminars, conferences, workshops, lectures, exhibitions, and an annual Global Blackness Summer School in addition to research fellowships and residency programs.
